The H-Town Classic is back to allow scouting services a chance to see who is breaking out for the 2023 basketball season. We will finish the tournament mid afternoon on Sunday. This will be the place to be April 21-23, 2023 as we expect teams from across the State of Texas and throughout the South to once again descend on Houston to play against the best and enjoy a weekend of excellent basketball.  We will have video streaming for college coaches viewing for all 15-17U games.

  • Open to Boys 9U/3rd Grade – 17U/11th Grade and Girls Varsity teams
  • Unsigned seniors are welcome!
  • Normal high school rules with stop clock on dead balls
  • Excellent facilities  
  • 3 game guarantee
  • The earliest possible games begin after 5pm on Friday
  • Teams play 2 pool play games before advancing to the championship brackets. Championship games are over by 5pm on Sunday
  • George Bush International Airport (IAH)
  • Awards for 1st and 2nd place team members in each division
  • NCAA Certification for boys 15U-17U
  • Players bring a copy of their birth certificate and report card

9U / 3RD GRADE

Players in the 3rd grade can be 9 or 10 years old, but cannot turn 11 before September 1.

10U / 4TH GRADE

Players in the 4th grade can be 10 or 11 years old, but cannot turn 12 before September 1.

11U / 5TH GRADE

Players in the 5th grade can be 11 or 12 years old, but cannot turn 13 before September 1.

12U / 6TH GRADE

Players in the 6th grade can be 12 or 13 years old, but cannot turn 14 before September 1.

13U / 7TH GRADE

Players in the 7th grade can be 13 or 14 years old, but cannot turn 15 before September 1.

14U / 8TH GRADE

Players in the 8th grade can be 14 or 15 years old, but cannot turn 16 before September 1.

15U / 9TH GRADE

Players in the 9th grade can be 15 or 16 years old, but cannot turn 17 before September 1.

16U / 10TH GRADE

Players in the 10th grade can be 16 or 17 years old, but cannot turn 18 before September 1.

17U / VARSITY

The boys’ 17U & girls’ Varsity divisions are actually “open divisions,” where unsigned seniors with remaining high school eligibility can play. However, players cannot turn 20 before September 1. Unsigned seniors can play as long as they have not committed in writing to play for a college at any level. Unsigned prep school players are also eligible to play in our tournaments. If a player has signed a letter of intent and you think they won’t qualify because of grades, they still cannot play. The tournament management has the right to exclude any senior from playing. No player who has attended junior college or college may play in this event.

 

This event is during a Men’s D1 Coach Live Period. In order to participate in the 15U, 16U, or 17U certified division, teams must complete the following steps:
